Getting Sexy? Get Checked!

On this page, you’ll find details of sexual health clinics local to Barnet, Enfield and Haringey. We’ve also included some information about other London clinics and specialist services for lgbt young people. Don’t forget - sexual health clinics also offer advice and information about all matters to do with sexual health, not just treatments for sexually transmitted infections when things have gone wrong!

Delaying a check-up because you feel ‘embarrassed’
isn’t an excuse for poor sexual health...

NHS sexual health services are free and totally CONFIDENTIAL... so nobody needs to know you went, except you, unless you want them to. Delaying a check-up (if you have ANY concerns) just because you might feel ‘embarrassed’ isn’t really an excuse for poor sexual health... Oh, and don’t think they haven’t seen it all before... they most certainly have.

Unsure what to say when you call a clinic?  Try this:

"I'd like to make an appointment for a sexual health check-up please"

And they'll take it from there...

Some clinics have 'walk in' sessions, but it is usually necessary to telephone and make an appointment.  Many clinics now opertate a system where you have to call on a certain day of the week to make an appointment.  So be prepared to be told you need to call back on a different day to make a time when you can be seen. (yes, we agree - this can be a real pain in the ar*s - but do make sure you call back).  It can sometimes take up to 10 days before you are seen at the clinic of your choice, but it's usually just a few days. If you have problems accessing a clinic - drop us a line.
